I am a tutor with experience working with students in the areas of English, Spanish, math, study skills, and standardized test preparation. While working toward my dual bachelor's degree in English and Spanish, I have tutored students in elementary school, high school, and college. I am competent in various levels of instruction in each of my subject areas, from basic to advanced skills. Due to my educational background in Spanish, I can assist learners in preparing for standardized tests in various subjects in Spanish as well as English. I particularly enjoy working with students on grammar, writing, and composition. I believe that language has a particular importance, as it allows people to express themselves and to be understood. My tutoring methods, which focus on ensuring that students understand the material in lieu of rote memorization, have shown marked improvements on my students' grades as well. Students that have worked with me in the past have also demonstrated a reduction in anxiety around testing, which helps them to achieve higher grades. I specialize in incorporating students' interests in the learning material. I love teaching and will have a minor in education when I complete my degree at Liberty University. I reside in Lynchburg, Virginia, and in my free time, I enjoy running, reading, and volunteering.
